The Regional Finals of the NZIM/Eagle Technology Young Executive of the Year 2011 were held in July in Auckland and Christchurch. Each year finalists are selected from each of the regions, Northern, Central and Southern, that then compete for the national title which is announced at the Deloitte Top 200 Awards in late November.

In 2011, finalists were chosen from an outstanding group of seven candidates in the southern region, and ten in the northern region. Central was unable to decide a suitable candidate in 2011, leaving the competition for national title now between two. Eagle Technology congratulates Matthew Carter, General Manager, Otago Polytechnic, HR and Student Services and Hamish McBeath, General Manager, Pacific Coilcoaters (a subsidiary of Fletcher Building). Eagle also acknowledges the excellent work that is being accomplished by all of those nominated for this year's awards.
