Eagle Excellence in GIS Award
The 2012 winner of the Eagle Excellence in GIS award was announced at the Esri Asia Pacific User conference dinner in November. The Eagle Excellence in GIS award recognises an organisation that has achieved exceptional results in the application of GIS over the previous 12 months. We had 12 submissions for this award. The winning entry won a return flight and entry to the Esri Users Conference to be held in San Diego in July 2013.
This year's competition was tough, with entries of a very high calibre. The winners were Kate Burns, James Lyth and Kate Williams of Tonkin and Taylor for their application "Canterbury Earthquakes Residential Land Damage". Afaf Abbas from Opus was highly commended for Auckland-Manukau Eastern Transport Initiative (AMETI) and Manas Chakraborty from Horizons Regional Council forIntegrated spatial dataset representing significant freshwater values (ecological, social and economic) across the region.
Congratulations to Tonkin and Taylor, Opus and Horizons, and everyone else who entered the 2012 Eagle Excellence in GIS Award. We look forward to seeing your work in 2013!
