Eagle Technology advises that following the earthquake that occurred on Sunday July 21 in Wellington, contingency plans are in place to ensure Business as Usual for all Eagle customers. Eagle Technology's Wellington offices are closed today, Monday July 22, and until further notice pending safety inspections. However all enquiires are being directed to our Auckland offices with Wellington staff deployed remotely to assist with issues that may arise. Esri's Chief Scientist in NZ
Esri’s Chief Scientist in NZ. Dawn Wright, Chief Scientist at Esri, was in New Zealand in November 2013 to meet with fellow scientists at NIWA, GNS and the Department of Conservation. She also gave a public lecture at Victoria University entitled Bridging the Gap Between Scientists and Policy Makers: Whither GIScience? The lecture focused on the role scientists may need to take in the light of the evidence of scientific data and its implications for the environmental sustainability of the planet.

Consumerisation driving geospatial boom. For years geospatial technology was a specialist discipline best left to experts. Esri sales director Chris Cappelli says that has changed. Cappelli was in Auckland recently to deliver a keynote at the New Zealand Esri User Conference.
